Reallly chilled out day today. Weather was unbearably hot! After class went to a MASSIVE bookshop with some friends and browsed the Latin American lit section as Samuel and Rodrigo reeled off some impressive facts. Nothing like some intellectual snobbery to bring out the best in people! Left clutching a small poetry book by an obscure female french writer who lived in Argentina.
Also saw a film at the local art house cinema called Matar a Videla. Really enjoyed it, was shot on a low budget camera with really simplistic backdrops and narration. The film was shot in BA and there was one scene where the main character ran down the main road where I live!!! Cool to be able to recognise places!! BA is definitely starting to feel like home!
Ps saw two protests in the street infront of th res. Apparently this is perfectly normal. They were also playing music and singing. Was more of a spectacle then a protest!
