3-4 hours in the motorised canoe (and therefore a very numb bum), a few stops for swimming, lunch and we finally arrived at our campsite which was directly opposite Angel Falls. The view was incredible. To get to the closest viewpoint of the falls it was a tough hour hike through the forest/jungle over rocks and tree roots with lots of uphill in very humid weather. Safe to say when we got to the top there were some puffed out sweaty peeps!! We chilled there for a while, taking in the views and you could swim as well. After that we had the trek back to camp which luckily wasn't as bad as the way up! We got back to camp, which was very basic - a hammock each (with no mosquito net), a table and a toilet. The guides cooked us a lovely meal and then we were all asleep in our hammocks by 7:30pm! Falling asleep listening to the Angel Falls just across the river. Amazing.
