So this is the first time i've been able to use my photo for the blog entry, this is one of many i took of Langkawi could not stop taking pictures but none of them do it justice! So we travelled by ferry from Penang to Langkawi and arrived at Zackys guest house. The accomadation was better then we thought. We headed to the nearest beach it was quite secluded. We sat under a tree and it started to rain thinking we'd be ok under the tree, yea your really not when it starts to rain in Malaysia, it rained so hard that we couldn't see the island on the other side of the beach or the massive cruiser that was not far from our beach. We had to wait about 45 mins till the rain got light enough to walk, then we headed back. The next day sam from the hostel was taking some of the other guests out on a day trip so we decided to join. We hired a car that 9 of us managed to get into somehow, love how you would never get away with that in the UK but they don't seem to care here! The we hired out a boat between us. We saw the mangroves that were pretty cool. We stoped to see kites a type of eagle aparently, diving into the water around us for fish amazing birds, to quick to get a picture though. We saw a croc cave luckily they were nowhere to be seen, and then a bad cave. I was not expecting that many to be hanging above my head, wasn't overly comfortable with the idea of them hanging there but i was reasured that they were fruit bats. Sam from the hostel kept trying to find the snake that lived down there, i insisted that it was fine unfound but he didn't really listen, luckily he was unsucessful. We then headed out to a secluded beach were we could see Thialand from were we were, the beach was paradise something that you would only see in a movie or advertisment but better. At this point i thought of every one back home working!! :-p We then headed to the fish farm were tash fed a mantor ray i finally got to touch one they are pretty cool fish, gem had her hand engolfed by two of them quite funny. He showed us a helmet crap which he kept holding in different positions, as one way it looked like alien vs preditor and the other it looked like the batman logo, was quite funny if you google the crab you'll know what he means. We headed back as it pissed it down, an open boat is not a good place to be when raining. Sam decided to still take us to the hot springs, which to me are basically jacuzzi's outside, so it was still raining at this point and there we are submerged in an outside Jacuzzi- nice. Luckily sam found one that was alot hoter and more covered, it was pretty amazing (see facebook for pics). I actually really liked the fact that it was raining made it more relaxing. Sam then took us to the black sand beach then on to a beach were we could see the sunset, was stunning. We went to a night market, i tried crisps on a stick pretty nice, and something that looked like a onion barge in a pancake was actually really nice to.
The next day we met up with sam at the cable car place as he worked there as well, he helped us skip the que and came up with us. We were with two women from Sweden they were really nice giving us tips about oz. The view was so unreal up there, could hapily have got a picnic, a book and some vino and sat up there for hours. We were 700 metres above sea level, pops would not have liked it!! We headed back down and had lunch at a resturant were you could see a tiger through the window just as we left he came right up to the glass so lucky, the closest i have been to a tiger, they are amazing animals. Then we headed back to Penang.
My favourite stop in Malaysia so far!!
