fri 21st: set alarm at 4 as due to arrive at 4:20 but pulled in at 5:50. stored bag at train station. walking around found a tuk tuk guy offering tour of wats for 600b. took me around 4 temples; phutthaisawan, chai watthanaram, na phamane and phra mahathat. had about 3hrs then he said there was nothing else to see. so he took me to the train station, then the bus station and told the driver where i needed to go. changed bus at surapburi or somewhere. total trip took 4hrs and only 150baht (tour company wanted 450baht, so saved a bit there!) walked around kanchanaburi and found 150baht room at sugar cane. nice room, well its a bamboo bungalow but people not very friendly. walked around the town, grabbed food, nice pad thai with chicken. it then pissed down so had an early night - in bed by 9.

sat: today i had a tour of erawan NP (850b), death railway and bridge over the river kwai. really enjoyed. tri worth it as all places are difficult to get to on your own. in night met up with the tour guide Aom asnd had a couple of drinks. couldnt find anywhere that had the cardiff game on. and was too tired to stay up for champions league final.

sun:walked to the war cemetary and death railway museum (100b!!) then managed to burn photos finally. caught minibus at 1:30 to bangkok. got to bangkok and couldnt find the location where the bus was supposed to pick me up. lucky i got the tour girl to draw me a map back in kanchanaburi. i walked into a bar that looked near to the bus stop and they said there was no bus stop but they come here and collect people. so was lucky. had an hour just strolling around KSR. got a japanese guy next to me on bus who didnt speak much english. so didnt talk to anyone. bus was normal one so didnt get much sleep. got dvt!! ha, my feet blew up like balloons.

mon: only 2 of us on bus going to ao nang. told the driver i wanted cheap accommodation for like 200baht but he said the cheapest was 400b. he dropped me off at this hotyel and i managed to get a room for 300b -no tv, cold showeer and no wifi. had a walk around the town and looked at a couple of tours. then spent rest of day down on beach. decided on tours, read a bit and got stung by a jellyfish. met this guy izzy, walked with him over to nature reserve and agreed to meet up tonight. i then spent 3450b :( :(. bought 2 tours, white water rafting and atv (quad biking) for 2100b and james bond island sightseeing tour for 900b. i also bought a dry pack bag for 450b as my 'handbag' got soaking last time i went on a tour involving water. in night met izzy and 3 canadian thai boxers. played this hammer and nail game with 2 thai girls as well and i won. place is pretty dead apart from the countless amount of thai girls wanting u to take them home.

tues 25th: probably had the best tour so far today. the white water rafting was insane. health and safety right out the window. firstly the river wasnt the widest and the boulders were pretty big. plus u had to wait for them to open the penstocks/damns so u caught the first load of waves. and on top of that u had to watch out for the other 30 boats ur trying to compete with to get the best route down. the lunch we had was incredible, really nice and put these 3 aussies to shame. in afternoon did the atv for 1hr. thought it would be pretty easy going but was actually really intense. had a pretty chilled out night. met izzy again.

wed: james bond island tour. island itself was pretty nice. nothing on the island except craft and souvenir stalls. some of them were pretty harsh and not nice. then went to 200 yr old floating village for food. then monkey temple and waterfall - didnt swim as wasnt that nice and got a slight ear infection. in night had a pretty chilled out night till 11 then met these 5 thai girls and went to a club. izzy left at 1:30. i got in about 4:15.

thurs: hungover but had a nice lie in. caught ferry to phi phi island only like 20 people on there. had to wait 2hrs in harbour on boat as they closed the island because the princess was there. got onto island at 5, dehydrated and hungry. had to pay 20b for entrance fee onto island and had to walk through the army. staying at jongs house, 400b p/n but really nice compared to others for the same price. went for food and met these 2 girls, sisters from nz but live in singapore and melbourne, katrina and sarah. sarah turns out to be a recruitment agent for civil engineers in oz. stayed with them till 8. then went out on own tat 9. played pool with a thai girl and an english guy. bought bucket on street and went to apache bar. quite quiet. got in at 1:30.

fri: walked to the lookout, view was amazing. got attacked by monkeys. tried to grab my leg and flipflop the little s***s. met izzy. pretty chilled out day today. walked around town and beach then just stayed at beach for couple of hours. in night was very very quiet as it was muslim day so pretty much all pubs were shut. met french girls in night.

sat: went on tour of the outer islands. did some swimming and snorkelling and went to maya bay - the beach.. had a swim, played footie and a thai stick. to get there had to climb through this tunnel in the rocks. boat ride back was pretty rough. got thrown off my seat. in night met french girls, but got a bit bored so went off on my own. was pretty drunk. got in at i have no idea.

sun 30th: decided to catch the boat to koh lanta and do diving there. sorted the hotel out on the boat. beautiful location. but place is pretty dead. alot of restaurants, shops, hotels are shut and all diving shops shut, so will have to go back to phi phi. went to a great place in night -nicks garden. watched robin hood there -its s***. earlier i played football with 30 odd thai guys for an hour.

mon 31st: complete chillout day today, sunbathed, read, listened to music and played /body boarded in the sea. in night i joined 5 girls for food and drinks at my resort. me and laura stayed till 1:30. i then had to pack, which went surprisingly well seeing i was stoned and pissed. got to sleep at 3.

tues 1st june: pretty much slept the whole 6hr journey -bus to krabi as boat service had stopped. staying at pp october for 300b p/n. met this german girl at tea who looked exactly like an ex girlfriend. and some reason it freaked me out lol. arranged to meet her later nbut couldnt find her. went to jordans, played loads of pool, then went to beach bars. rain stopped play at 1.

wed: doing some fun diving today with pp frog diving centre. there are 3 of us, but the other 2 are level rescuers. the thai instructor is pretty cool and his english is good. first dive was good but vis was only 4m. but what we saw was cool. the next sight was alot better. saw turtles, snakes, loads of fish. nice coral and went throgh some reef tunnels. ran low on air on the 2 dives so have to take the dive masters emergency air supply. but didnt affect the dive at all. then wen got back had a nap, read and walked around the craft and souvenir stalls. went for food and then met kayleigh and kat. got a bucket and then chilled out on tyhe beach bars watching the fire throwers. got pretty drunk. luckily. was a great end to my time in thailand.

thurs: had breakfast with kayleigh and kat, but had to rush off to finish packing. had to pretty much run to catch the boat. bus journey was ok. had a minibus and a bit of space. drivers were crazy. border control was very simple. got into penang at 9. staying at 75 travellers lodge. guy at reception is really friendly. staying in the dorm with 10 people. no door, no curtains, no mozzy net over open windows. had a quick walk to the food court where they had live music and cheap food - if u can call itzy bitzy teeny weeny yellow... as live music. had an early night.
