The most amazing accomodation ever, Izhcayluma! We stayed in a lodge up in the hills, slightly outside of Vilcabamba as there isnt really a lot in the town/village itself. As it says on its leaflet "take a break from travelling", which we did for 5 days lol. From the lodge you could do treks, we took up this option on our first day, again with amazing views in the peaceful hill side. The map had a few instructions on the back, one being that there may be dogs that run up and bark at you aggresively, one of my favourite things in the world to happen as you may know! It instructed that if they did pick up a rock/stone and it should run away, Hannah found the rock still in my jumper pocket 3days later!
We had booked to do a horse ride the following day, unfortunately during dinner the night before somehow i hurt my back pouring my beer, random. Nurse Peakman and her mummy Judy´s magic pills came to the rescue. After 2 pills and a couple of beers, i almost win the pool tournament swaying around slightly drugged up! (next day Nurse Peakman read that i should only have taken 1....oops) So I spent the next day in fornt of the TV watching films whilst Hannah was out exploring!
Hannah and her sterdy steed Senor Chocolatae went on a trek through the national park, the mountain paths were very narrow and amazingly steep. Felt like you were on top of the world at the top! The horses were left at the top whilst we trekked down to 2 waterfalls, back up the slope and stopped for a little picnic. On the way down it poured with rain for 20mins, making the narrow path extremely slippery, hanging onto the horses for dear life. Our French friend Greg horse slipped and he fell, even was worried bar his best friend Simon who was wetting himself so much he nearly fell off too.
Hannah nursing a sore bum and back, we spent the next day around the pool in the sunshine.
Our friend Sarah came and met us before we went across the border, taking a 14hour bus journey from Quito to catch us, mad girl!
