We arrived in Riobamba for the start of the Devils Nose Train ride, only to find the train doesnt run from there at the minute as they are repairing a section of the track, so we had to get up at 6 to take a 2hour bus journey to catch the train from Alausi. Nightmare, but the train ride was amazing! At some points it looked like you didnt even have a track underneath you! Stunning views yet again from Ecuador.
A short journey this time, 5 hours to Cuenca, but unfortunately the bus was full when we got on so I spent 2 hours standing up, whilst Hannah and our friend Michaela sat on the floor amongst some very interesting smells, and Hannah still managed to sleep! Arrived in Cuenca and we stayed in a lovely little hostel, ran by an amazing little lady that was so welcoming and helpful (Hogar Cuencano Hostel, even giving us fresh juice as we were leaving with our bags on trying to get us to stay a bit longer)
One of the best cities we´ve visited, full of cafes, bars and cobbled streets. We took a bus tour of the city and again visited churches and cathedrals (a must apparently when in a city), I´m becoming slightly religious lol.
