Hello everyone, I just have set up this blog for whoever is interested in knowing a bit more about my volunteering experience and seeing what I am up to there! So, this is a trial blog...*fingers crossed*
Last night, I found out a bit more about my school placement and where I will be staying. The details are as follow, I am paired with a Belgian girl called Lien, and I will be working at Siviraja School for the Deaf & Blind, Mahawewa, Chilaw. Which is where I will live too, with Lien and a house matron.
A bit more about the district I will be living in;

19 days till I jet off! How am I feeling?! Er, very excited, I am really looking forward to the experience. But nerves are starting to kick in... Natural, I guess, as it is a very different culture that I will be volunteering in. And I am going there with no teaching experience...! So yeah, it will be interesting to see how I will handle it.
It is definitely an amazing opportunity to find out more about myself, and to be a good role model for the Deaf children there, which is the main reason why I am passionate about this volunteering opportunity. And finally, because of you all as well, I will share the experience with you as much as I can, because with your help, we made this trip a reality! So, thank you so much :)
That's it for now, I will write a blog before I jet off :)
Rx
PS I will try and record some videos and put them up on here as well! :)
