Ok so i take it back that it wont be heart wrenching working at the refuge. I know now i was very niave thinking it was a holiday but when i got to the refuge and the young kids are crying for attention and have nothing stimulating to do, no one to read with them or play games and they just get more and more worked up and then start kicking and biting each other.
One girl is 15 and i think has (sorry cant spell this!) skitosphrenia and is just drugged up and sleeps in the sun all day and doesn´t talk to anyone. Obviously the mexican way to deal with the situation!
The problem seems to be that they need way more staff to come and help but that´s what they cant afford. These kids have been abandoned by their family, whole sets of brothers and sisters have been left at the refuge cause there parents are in jail or living on the streets or just dont want them and want to sell them.
One 3 month old baby girl has bite marks all over her body from her step dad, think that was when i could have burst out crying but didn´t.

So tonight i went to a veggie buffet restuarant and had vegetables!!!! then watched some fireworks and feel shattered, dont think i´ll be doing any partying this trip as i´m so tired and it´s only 9.30!!
Going on a boat trip in the morning to a secluded beach and waterfall. then going to yoga on saturday before my shift in the afternoon. i´m so glad its touristy here otherwise i think it may not have been so much fun!

Oh yeah and bloody got woken up by a neighbours cockrel at 5am this morning and could not get back to sleep, will up date you with my mission to hunt it down and kill it soon!
