So we are in Vietnam!!!!!!!!! (Janec 'I Love Spring rolls - I love Vietnam').
So we left PP (Phnom Penh) at 08:00 and got a bus to the harbour where we got on a boat to the Cambodian border here we got off said boat and headed to get our stamps. Before they stamped us out they checked our VIetnam documents so we weren't left swimming in No man's Land. One girl didn't have the right visa. And I was getting worried as the Confused and stern looking Cambodian official looked at me, untill I realised Id put my Vietnam Arrival card next to my Mongolian visa. But eventually stamped out we got on the boatagain and were taken to Vietnam immigration here we were met by the next boat we handed a passports over for our entry stamps then on boat number 2. This took us onto the Mekong proper with some beautiful views. We arrived in Chau Doc at 3pm. Simples, I think the most simple journey as of yet.
In Chau Doc we stayed in a nice hotel. With duvets, hot water (proper hot water) and tv. I felt like we were in the Ibis again but paying nothing in compqarison. It was lush. Here we learnt an important lesson, when the Vietnamese say a main dish they don't mean have one each you share it. Which is fine whent theres two of us but if you are travelling alone do you just get really fat. From Chau Doc we have got a mini van to CAn Tho. Yet another fun bus journey with too many stops but we actually took less time then they said. We have got a floating market trip booked for tomorrow which we have to ready to go for at 5.30am (i can hear Will and Jane gasping now who have rarely woken up at this hour and to both of you staying up till this time does not count as being hung over on a small rowing boat would seriously suck). So early to bed today.
Further information for you all is that we cannot access facebook here so email us or message here if you feel the need to communicate (if you don't wish to communcate then poo you all). This will be the same in China so for those of you who can only speak on facebook (I speak here to the socially stunted) we will have to catch you when we get back as trains have always had limited facebook access especiallly in Russia. If you dont have our emails then message here and I will get them to you. Our google accounts are best.
Love and hugs
