Rusty & Bubba - Living The Dream
bubba had the alarm on nice and early today!! up at 9am, straight in the taxi to the grand palace, This place is awesome as you can see by the photos the place is massive. WE decided to get a tour guide as that way you get to know the history behind the place. He knew his stuff! 500baht for for an hour, (about nine quid) took us into all the temples and believe me there is alot of gold! we went into the main temple and you take ur shoes off and arent allowed to point ur toes at buddha. This room was the most fantastic shrine if im honest, people come from miles to ask for buddhas help, Seh and I looked alil lost in there! we done lots of the ritual things, lighted candles and insence sticks, just a really once in a life time experience. The grand palace was also the residence of the king so lots of guards, much like london they arent allowed to move so seh got a photo! photos are like a 1000 words so maybe look at them, will be easier than me explaining! after the palace we got a boat ride along the rivers surrounding this vibrant city! Now this was something i will never forget in my life. The boat gve you a first hand look at the poverty some of these people live in. The tin shacks and the wooden huts, Kids swimming in the dirtiest river you could ever imagine. I just wanted to get out of the boat and help them in some way. Our first stop on the river boat was at a traditional thai house, bubba and I had to get up and dance with the locals! it was so funny, once again check the photos! crazy crazy stuff. We had a shot of thai whisky..tasted stronger than mouthwash! That evening we ate at a lovely restuarant called zanzibar! had thai green chicken curry, very spicy!!
