Safe, so had my first weekend in Salvador. This meant a lie in and lots of kotching, a wander round town to get my bearings a bit better and going out for the first time on Saturday night. This was quite a jokes experience and it started off by the people I was going to meet being a bit late so I sat in the argentinian restaurant next door and took advantage of happy hour. At £1.30 for a caipirinha and 48p for a 1.5 litre beers I was very happy as I sat watching the crowds grow outside 'Happy News', the chosen club for the night.
Eventually made it to the queue and there were mans selling cans of beer for like 65p. I was like 'allow dat' knowing I could get a whole litre and a half for 12p less... so I went back to the Argentinian restaurant, bought another bottle of beer and went back to the queue.
The entry/payment system in the club would screw over many of my friend, especially Ryan, given the fact that you pay for everything when you leave. When u go in they take down your name and record it on a computer and give u a card with a barcode on. Everytime you want to buy a drink you just give them the card, they scan it and add it to your bill. The problem is, they dont tell you how much you've spent, so if you're f***ed you could get in serious trouble...
It's monday again so yoga at 7am. Signed up at the local gym (which makes me feel like rocky as everything is rusty and old school) and had a good session. Came back, kotched and headed to the school where I'll be teaching for the next 7 monthsish to find out my timetable. Everything seems to be sorted now. Got a job, got a place to live and when the cash starts coming in I can start doing some travelling on the weekends. First stop will be the island of Boipeba...
