This was not the first time I had been to Georgia or Tbilisi for the matter. I was back in Baku, Azerbaijan (my hometown) for my summer holidays. My aunt never travels, she is just the kind of person who is afraid of change so for her week off I begged her to go to Tbilisi with me, since it was close enough to travel over to for a few days (we stayed for like 3). We went by overnight trains (they aren't really modern and pretty slow).
Tbilisi is a lovely city, it has the structure of a european city but the soul of a caucasian one. History is on every wall. We stayed in a lovely hotel in its old town which allowed us to travel around. My aunt actually enjoyed herself a lot even though a lot of construction was going on. Georgian cuisine is amazing and so is the wine especially khvanchkara and the language is so unique and lovely to listen to.
