June 26 and 27

We are now in StEmilion and leaving for Bordeaux today. I have fallen completely in love with St Emilion and want to move here, study wines and then become a wine maker. Ha ha just kidding, but a little serious... I'm allowed to dream... But honestly, it's heaven here, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! It has an enchanting coble stone town which is super clean with great restaurants and fine wine merchants on every street corner then if you look past the town you can see vineyards all around as far as the eye can see, so lush and green with birds singing beautiful songs- am seriously in love with this place and will come back again! We went to this sparkling Bordeaux wine merchant tried the local sparkling rose, bought a bottle and sat out on this gorgeous lawn in the sun to drink it with Our troop, then over to another wacky merchant Bernard, or Bernie, saw their 500 year old underground cellar and tasted some great wines from the area. Yesterday we stumbled across this winery in the country side called Chateau Monlot where this young guy, Phillip, was eating his lunch but offered to do the tasting for us anyway. It turned out that the guy is from the states living and studying here and dying to speak english so we invited him out to dinner with us but he suggested we come back to have dinner at the Chateau and he'd cook. Such a generous guy, we all had a lot of fun and polished off nearly 2 bottles of wine each and no hangover- love this place!
