Bang!!
Hope everyone had a great Australia Day.
Firstly it has finally snow a significant amount. I have been hanging out for snow for ages. The snow makes this place looks heaps better, dull and boring houses look so nice in the snow and the bare streets are now white. Its the winterwonderland i was thinking of for Christmas. So we have had a few good snowball fights, check out the photos. So now I have had a good reason to buy a new pair of boots and some gloves which I need for my trip west next month anyway. We also went to London, 45 mins north of here, its an old city and the University is large, old and has really nice architecture and the grounds are beautiful, I guess its a bit like Oxford in England being a University city.
For Australia Day Gibbo and Bill stopped in Chatham on their way back from the states. Gibbo, for those of you who don't know I met traveling in Europe in 2005 and he is from Sydney. He has been living with Bill, about 3 hours from here. Anyway they came round and after giving them a whipping at 8ball and losing some cash to them at poker we headed out to a local bar in Chatham called the Elephants Nest. We played some 8ball and sampled a few of the local beers which weren't much good. The only music playing there was on a local radio station so Gibbo spent an hour trying to request a song but never got through on the phone. Then he decided to chat up the bar bird by teaching her all the nasty drinks he knows and drinking them. Of course there was going to be a casualty and when Bill tried to drink and suck a gas chamber he spewed all over the bar. Check out the photo, it was thick brown, probably from the chili we had for dinner. With Gibbo saying goodbye to target 1 we went down the street a bit to a nightclub called the River Rock which is only open on Thursday nights. This is also opposite Spanky's which is a men's club in case you wanted to know. There were more people at the River Rock than we thought there would be so it turned out to be a fun night. Gibbo worked some serious moves on a friend of Lisa's but by the end of the night she had found a reason to say goodbye to him. We got kicked out around 3 and a few of our fans got around us for an Australia Day photo in the snow covered main St of Chatham. Gibbo tried to tell the taxi driver on the way home not to call the cops if she heard any fireworks going off, might have been better just not to mention the fireworks at all. With the wind-chill it was -17 outside and we found it hard to get the fireworks to light. But we had a fun Australia day anyway. We also let Triple J know we were having a party but they didnt call us, not sure if we got a mention back home??
The Buffalo Sabres are now in a form slump and have lost 6 of their last 10 games but still sit 3rd overall and 1st in the eastern conference. Also missing vegemite big time now, it's been over 2 months since I have had any. Lisa is still working at the pet shop, her pet shop sells heaps more different and exotic animals than what we have back home. It has blue tongue lizards which are native to Australia which is a bit of a worry and also some parrots. But they have iguanas, water dragons, chinchillas, and lots of varieties of rodents, puppies, kittens, fish and lots of other stuff. She loves the reptiles the most I think, she cant make up her mind which one she wants to bring home. Its been a big year for squirrels.
Been keeping an eye on what's going on at home, seems Federer is still Federer despite the best efforts of the Gonzo (was on the train). The Aussies are still the Aussies and the England is still crap. Good to hear. Cant wait for dream team to start, smokesmen recruiting staff have been busy.
I think the website has been sent to all of you so you can check out the photos. Also my email [email protected] may self destruct sometime in the near future, I have another one [email protected] if you cant get in contact on the other one.
Tight lines
