HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Went out again, in the village, to have kuche kuche beer with the locals. The malawi people eat boiled eggs as a snack. You can see people selling eggs in the bus station, in bars, this is their local "snack".
Africa is so colorful, so alive when you are with the local people. They still wonder what a "mzungu"- meaning " white person"- does in their community. But i just talk to them:
- Monire! Mulli ulli!
- tilemakora!
- taluti!
This means:
- hello! How is it going!
- fine thanks!
- goodbye!
This is chichiwa, the language of the tribes in the north part of Malawi. In the south there is a different language. Such a small country andit has 3 or 4 languages to be spoken.
But i learned some swahili aswell, while in Tanzania, and it' s a nicer language than the one in Malawi! Brendan had a book to learn swahili and he had a very pleasant way of pronouncing the words, they sounded sweet when he was talking. He was like a grandchild talking to his granny! :)
- mambo!
- poa?
- wepi poa!
