Well Here I am in Te anau after several days travelling, lots of mountains and lakes. Feel Like I have been here forever - can understand why Vic doesnt want to come home! The flight over was not too bad actually. Managed to stalk a dutch guy but he twitched in his sleep and laughed out loud when watching films which freaked me out more! my tv wouldnt work very well cos the arse sitting in front of me had his headrest back so ended up listening to the clash (London Calling!) Blondie and the Smiths all the way. Landed in christchurch to blazing hot sunshine! was absolutley glorious and the flight over newzealand was wonderful - fantastic view of mountains and glaciers.
Next job was to collect camper van on my own - it was an automatic! Coped remarkably well tho and didnt kill anyone but did frighten a mother and child in a supermarket car park!
First night was at Jacksons Retreat which was a lovely campsite kinda in the middle of nowhere.
Then next day on to Hokita and Franz Joseph where unfortunately the weather closed in so couldnt do my glacier flight. stayed the night in Fox Glacier
Next travelled down to Wanaka via Bruce Bay (turned a corner in the rainforest and suddenly the sea and crashing surf - all cars and campers veered off the road at once for a photo stop) Haast and somewhere else. a lovely run. Had fab ice cream.Weather a bit cloudy and rainy so no sky dive yet.
woke up to a beautiful day and no breccy cos off to Te anau via Queenstown and a Fergburger! The most fanatastic burger I have ever had! absolutely gorgeous.
We popped up to manapouri and i had a paddle in the lake - wasnt too cold tho vic didnt beleive me.
Settled into the Lakieview holiday park in Te anau ready for a pony trek this evening with hopefully a sunset.
Seen lots of wierd things - chocolate fish! ones you can actually eat! and a Moose Cafe - he gets everywhere. we are not eating there tonight
adios for now
