Ok. where the fook is Sara now ?
From Lake Wanaka we moved on to Te anau via Queenstown. The drive down was dead easy - partic as Vic was doing it and I was taking photos on route! Queenstown is a really fantastic place with loads going on. everywhere is really clean too - no litter anywhere - and the people are friendy. stopped off for the world famous Fergburger - absolutely fantastic! and good value too.
And we saw someone wrapping a small car in cling film which was a must - myself and vic did this to Andrew shaws car when we were at NWF - We obviously set a trend
Then moved on to Te anau where we were to spend the night. (Tuesday I think!) popped up to Lake Manapouri and Fraser Beach where I had a paddle - the water wasnt too cold actually tho Vic didnt beleive me after trying out the pool in france in the summer.
In the evening I managed to persuade vic to go Horse Trekking even tho she hates horses. The place was really well run and the people were nice and the horses ok too - except that vickys was in the Lord of the Rings, had new shoes on and was on the first day of her diet so had completely lost her sense of humour! One of the horses there was called Hamish - I flatly refused to ride that one!
Neither of us fell off tho and i think Vic secretly enjoyed it....actually no she didnt! We still have quite sore arses
It was a beautiful evening if a little windy (vics horse cilla was doing her proud) and we saw plenty of wildlife - oyster catchers, a canary type bird and one beining with a P plus lots of sheep and deer and a baby deer just been born - doesnt come out well on the photo - it aint easy taking photos on the back of a horse.\
Had a very cold night in Te anau and woke to lots of rain - motored down to milford Sound where we were supposed to be spending the night but couldnt really see much except clouds although it was still quite magnificent. Decided to cancel and spend the night in Queenstown instead.
Managed to get a campsite which was absolutley packed but only 4 mins walk into town so Wednesday night was sorted with another Fergberger and several Vodkas - didnt fall over which was good.
Rained throughout the night and morning which was a bit miz but bought a few pressies in queenstown. Was hoping to do a sky dive but the weather wasnt up to it - hopefully tomorrow.
Tomorrow we are off to Mount Cook (not literally although you never know) hopefully after a sky dive.
See ya ! xxx
