Today we chose a tour to Salzburg, home of Mozart and The Sound of Music. Not sure how alive the hills actually were as we drove through quite heavy rain to get there!
What a pretty place! Lovely hilly countryside with some really big crystal clear lakes surrounded by snow capped mountains! The township itself was such an incredible mix of buildings and styles. Another amazing cathedral, one can't help but be quite overwhelmed by the design and construction of these incredibly old buildings. These buildings are actually older than the time Australia has been settled!
Wandered around Salzburg and had a fabulous authentic Austrian lunch in a little eating house that has been around since the 1700's! I had schnitzel and Ross goulash! Lunched with Patty and David, a Canadian couple we have bonded with.
After lunch pottered around the shopping mall and picked up some quaint little gifts. We didn't get back to the ship til 5.30. After dinner the crew put on an entertainment show. Haven't laughed that much for ages!
