Ross and Gabs Travels
We drove through Bourke and continued on about 6km to get to Back of Bourke. Bourke itself is different to say the least. Most shop windows (if they have any) have bars or steel screens on them. The supermarket has a security guard on duty. A good place to shop if you need to and then go elsewhere. Back of Bourke is a small place but the caravan park we want is here, just off the highway. The first thing you see is a sign saying "NO DOGS Don't even ask!!!" As we don't have a dog with us that was no problem. Kidman's Camp is a well maintained unique park. We went for a walk this morning before we left to have a look at the Darling River and the Paddle Steamer that takes tourists for a trip on the river twice a day. The paddle steamer was out on a trip when we went down so no photos of it, unfortunately. Even though the park was close to the highway we both slept very well. We can't believe how well we are sleeping. It must be the clean unpolluted air, or just contentment and travelling with no worries of running a house. Housework takes about 15minutes. We make the bed together. wash the dishes together and cook together. When we pull up at a caravan park or camp ground Ross sets up the levels if required and I attach water, electricity and drainage. Ross unhooks the car if we need to use it and ther you have it. Our travelling house all ready!
