Oh my god I have just found the meaning of the word adrenaline! and that does coincide quite possibly with the meaning of life!
I am now in Taupo and have just got back from a 15,000ft skydive!
On my last day in Rotorua, I went Sprint Car racing, which was awesome! It didn't last very long (beacuse I was driving so fast probably) but the feeling of speed and rapid accelleration were amazing!
I also went to Rotorua museum, which was good. In the grounds there was an arts/crafts/music fete which was cool.
The next day we went on to Waitomo, which has a populationf of about 60!
That afternoon I went Black Water Rafting, which is rafting through caves, and we also did a 35m abseil and a zip wire in the dark! The gloworms look amazing, it's like looking up at the stars. We also climbed up some underground waterfalls and had a tea break on the ledge of the abyss. Thoroughly enjoyed that!
Met a really nice group of people and we had drinks in the evening. Our hostel was really nice there. We played the deathly, Ring Of Fire - not for the light-stomached.
After a late night, we were able to lie-in the next morning and left at about 12.30pm, arriving in Taupo at about 3.15, where I went straight on to the skydive centre!
My tandem skydiver was called Jorn and he showed me how everything worked and then we were off up to 15,000ft. We had to take oxygen on the way up because it was so high.
Jumping out was very scary but the most amazing feeling ever! that was probably the best thing I have EVER done!
It seemed to go in seconds but probably lasted around 5 minutes.
tomorrow I am going to walk the tongarirro crossing and seem Mt Doom from Lord of the Rings.
Great fun!
