My last few days in Queenstown were great!
The Nevis Highwire Bungy and Ledge Bungy were awesome! I love bungy jumping!! the Nevis is 134m high and the ledge is 47m. I also did the Shotover Canyon Swing which is like a huge playground swing but much much better.
Queenstown is a really nice town to walk around and sit by the lake. It's probably my favourite of the towns I have stayed in - it is the most adrenaline fuelled, most party orientated and most beautiful. A nice combination.
Before leaving the UK I researched Judo clubs in Australia and New Zealand and found a club to visit in Queenstown in order to keep up with the sport whilst I am away. I went along on Wednesday and it was a lot of fun to have another session after not practicing for ages. The club was run by two brown belts and was quite informal but very friendly. They taught me some throws I have not really practiced before and some new ways of doing throws I am familiar with. It was great to see how they work and to have a randori (throwing practice) session with some New Zealand judo players.
I am now in Christchurch, otherwise known as the 'garden city' and it's very nice here! I haven't been on the tram yet but will hopefully do that tomorrow.
I visited the International Antarctic Centre which was fascinating and took a seat in the Cathedral to admire the stained glass.
I have just got back from the Crusaders vs the Cheetahs Super 14s rugby match (which the Crusaders won 55-7). It was a great game, the Crusaders are the Christchurch team so there was a lot of support for them. I went with Lykke (from Denmark) and Olivia (from Sweden) who I met a while ago on the bus. A great game!
So it's farewell to New Zealand!
