So Now I'm in Auckland!
The rest of my week in Los Angeles went well. Universal studios is great, I spent Wednesday there. It was hot.
The next day I went to Santa Monica, home of the legendary (depending upon how you look at it) Baywatch.
Santa Monica is beautiful, the beach runs for miles and miles down the California coast. I walked the famous pier and then explored Palisades Park, which is amazing! - hundreds of palm trees and green grass set on the cliff top next to the beach. wow.
Again the number of homeless people struck me as a rather large amount, but it is hard to know what action is being taken.
I met a French guy called Louis on the bus, so I had a chance to practice my French which was nice.
If I thought it was hot before, Friday was scorching!! I think it peaked at about 28 degrees celcius but possibly higher.
That day I went on a tour of LA including all of the celebrities' homes in Beverly Hills. Here you really get the chance to see the amazing difference between rich and poor in LA.
We also dropped by Venice beach which is lovely.
I later went to the airport and endured the 12 hour flight to Auckland and here I am!!
I should be going to climb Auckland Harbour Bridge tomorrow weather permitting (not joking).
I am rather glad to be away from the American accent and the Boulevard of Broken Dreams - where so much can be had and so much lost.
