So it's New Years Eve. Although Khmer New Year is in April so it's more for the westerners and tourists. Realising my wardrobe isn't the best I quickly went to the market and brought a gorgeous black dress for tonight. Started off the celebrations working on JJ's booze cruise, loads of fun and everyone got so drunk. I managed to take it easy knowing I has all day and night still to go. Got back and had a group dinner on the beach with all the staff. Skyped Sami and then got ready for the evening. Worked behind the bar outside until 11pm, we had a beach party so the stage and everything was on the beach. Andy changed $5 into 100 reil bills (a massive wod of bills) and we stood on the stage and made it rain onto everyone. I have never seen so many people other than full moon night in Thailand. The beach was heaving, you could hardly move. When midnight came I was stood on the speaker and sprayed champers over everyone. 7am in the morning and were all still out, I made the clever decision to go home once we close at half 8. Had a nap then went to Sessions bar at lunchtime and we spent the day there. There were still people there still going from the night before.!! Had work in the night but surprisingly it was quite busy. One awesome New Year I'll never forget.
