Friday 5th November
We got picked up at 8am and headed to Queenstown. On the way we stopped at Puzzle World which was great fun although it did make a few of us feel a bit sick lol. The illusion rooms were great fun, for once I felt taller than Rob (see photo). The rest of the day consisted of travelling and doing group challenges..... no. 1 who can eat a dry weetabix the quickest, no. 2 who can suck the choc off a crunchie bar without it breaking, no. 3 moving an elastic band from upper lip to neck without using any hands (so attractive lol) and no. 4 which two people could pop a balloon between each other in a compromising position. Once we arrived at Queenstown we chilled and cooked a meal before getting ready for a night out. We went to the world bar gave us a $1000 free bar tab :) Returing home we were greeted by some drunken natives who demonstrated the 'haka' which is a traditional dance, we had seen them do this at the beginning of the night and they were really good but unfortunatley after a few too many drinks as they were on their arses and as they said 'this is what you get when you mix the haka with tequilla'.

A lie in whoo! today was our first chill day which was lovely. We didnt do much, we had a walk around the town and the lake and the markets were on so we enjoyed a stroll around the stalls and brought some presents before enjoying sweet and sour chicken with rice. In the evening we all chillled in the tv room and watched 'assault on precinct 13'
Sunday 7th November
Milford Sound day trip - We had to be outside the hostel for 7.45 am so another early start. We boarded the Milford explorer bus which took 5 hours in total. However this was a really nice journey as we stopped at several scenic spots along the way for picture taking. We arrive at Milford which is actually named after a place in Wales, and boarded the southern discoveries boat at 1.30pm. On board we had a hot buffet to start and from the moment the boat left we realised that this was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been too. We saw seals and penguins swimming in the wild which was great and we stopped at several waterfalls on route, the ice capped mountains were stunning. The boat trip lasted 2 1/2 hours and we returned at 4pm. It was then back onto the bus to Queenstown and we got in at 8pm. A great day! :)
Monday 8th November
A lie in after a tiring day yesterday. Me and Sarah had a walk around the shops, the rest of the group decided to walk up a large mountain near our hostel where there is a viewing platform at the top (nutters). However the more sensible of the group (Me and Sarah) travelled in style and boarded the gondola to met them at the top. From the top you could view all of Queenstown which was stunning :) the fact that it was so warm and sunny definately added to it. In the evening we had Fergburgers (recommended by Michelle and Danny) which were sooooooo tasty. They are one of the top 3 things to try in NZ. We brought the burgers down to the lake and spent a few hours there chilling which was lovely.
