Well loads has happended since Mozambique.
We arrived in Jo'burg on the 11th June, had our tour meeting in the backpackers ritz... the ritz it ain't and we were glad we had booked into a boutique hotel the next street along.
Our guides were Sonia and Frik, both scary afrikaans people
First impression of Jo'burg...a little dangerous, lots of razor wire and armed response units protecting all the houses so quite glad we only had to spend one night there and leaving at 7 am the following morning
7 am turned into 10am when the tour bus decided it wouldn't start. eventually we headed off to 'Bushmans camp'
we arived here and did our night drive which was amazing
next day we did our kruger game drive, the highlight of the day was see a whole pride of lions with its kill.
On the 14th we headed up to botswana. Quite uneventful, the journey was long but the scenery was fantastic.
On the 16th we went and stayed at a camp called Elephant Sands, where they have a watering hole that the elephants use at night time...i have to say being charged at by an angry elephant it quite an invigorating experience!! definately one for the memories.
After that we headed further towards Zambia and yesterday crossed the Zambesi.
The border crossing was quite an eye opener on how africa works......not very well.
If Frik - " I eat lions for breakfast!" hadn't talked nicely to the border ferry guys we might still be there...the queue was 5 kms long!
So we're here now in Livingston and head to the Vic falls tomorrow, then back to Botswana to carry on the safari and head to Chobe and Etosha game parks
p.s i cant accurately confirm that Frik does in fact eat lions for breakfast, but he's seriously scary and i'm going to take his word for it
