Sorry its been so long since I've said "Hello". I have been tracking you every week and had been plotting to rendezvous at some point, but some difficulties have arisen that make it impossible until maybe MA, NH or Maine in Sep/Oct.
I am very proud of you both, for tackling the 'easy section' of the AT..LOL!
Bill, I don't know if you have tried to call, but I haven't been taking any out of state calls due to some harassment issues. If you do call, leave a msg.
You guys inspire me...carry on BOIZE!

"This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life."
Just thinking of the two of you & hope you are safe rested & nourished. Love all the pics that you've been sharing along your journey. Stay Safe!

Trinket, The following is from the Mountain Express and continues in the next message.
Charity on wheels / Specialty plates
"Your car may express your personality, but your license plate can tell the world what cause you support. NC offers more than 100 specialty plates for you to choose from. For an extra $30 a year, you can support and help promote one of several popular outdoor destinations. The organization in question receives $20 per plate, which must be spent on projects in NC. Here are a few of them:
The clipping continues in my msg below. If I decide to move back to NC, I will pay the extra money to support the thru-hikers.

Hi Trinket, The following is an incerpt from the Mountain Express magazine I picked up while in Asheville. I thought you'd find it very interesting.
"The AT traverses 14 states from Georgia to Maine, but NC was the first to get a plate approved. In 2009, the ATC which manages the historic footpath, received $116,940 (5,847 plates) from our state's license-plate program. Since its inception, the program raised $396,240.
Backpackers enjoy the fruits of this new funding source when they stay in an AT shelter maintained by the Carolina Mountain Club. The club installed bear cables at 10 shelters, from Davenport Gap to Spivey Gap, where campers can now hang their food bags safe from bears and chipmunks w/o throwing a rope around a tree (i remember you telling me about that). The license-plate money paid for the materials, but the volunteer work is always priceless."
Awesome!!! Later, t :)

Unbelievable pictures on top of the mountain looking out over the countryside!!! Parker's home so I shared your adventure with him. He says, "Amazing!" Mike, Parker, and I leave for Alaska in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, we'll have some great pics too. Can't wait! Mike and Todd have been fishing some in NSB, but the weather hasn't cooperated like they would have liked. Guess they saw a great white out there today. Glad they weren't diving!! Happy hiking. Know you are having a blast!
