If I were to make a portrait to portray my community I would highlight several things. First I would likely have a great picture of our school and iconic oak tree. Our school district is well know for the success of our sports teams over the years, our relatively new athletic facility, and our gigantic oak tree on the property. The tree is absolutely stunning for its size, and also for its beauty in all seasons. I would also highlight the interchange for Interstate 80 as this is how most people know of the location of West Middlesex. The towns large uphill Viaduct with the Shenango river flowing underneath would be shown, and the West Middlesex Diner would be displayed. Our town diner open 24 hours year round not only serves delicious affordable food, but recently began serving beer as well. This diner is well known in the area, and I feel the owners deserve the publicity. Perhaps I would also have a photograph or two of rural countryside as that is where a majority of the towns residents live, and adds to the charm of our small town. The town truly is charming and I feel that these highlights would portray West Middlesex the best. When I am explaining my community to a person from farther away who likely has not heard of West Middlesex, I tell them that I am from a small town in western PA approximately an hour from Pittsburgh located on the Ohio border. This usually provides the description I need.
