We left Wilmington, NC around 330 pm after we joined Scott in bringing Sadie and Soen home after school. Sad to leave them... we had so much fun. But during the day, after Scott took the kids to school, he and Skip played golf, teeing off 9am. Michaela was already at work (7am) and wouldn't be home until after 230. So I had a free morning to myself and enjoyed another bike ride under sunny skies and wind (less so than Wednesday). After biking on Wilmington's cross-city trail (under construction so only one mile in either direction from the McCormick's), I resumed biking on the Halyburton PArk trail along with runners and do-walkers...). The Cameron Art Museum (on Independence and 17th) is a small museum, part of which is dedicated to Wilmington artisits: Minnie Evans, Claude Howell and Elizabeth Chant. On loan from a n Alabama museum was the artowrk of Zelda Fitzgerald, some drawings by Mary Cassatt and early 19th century Japanese watercolors of the rest stations on the Tokaido Rd.
From Wilmington to Little River it was a one hour drive on US 17 andwe arrived in time for - cocktail hour!! We have known Pat and Wayne since our college days. They used to live, among other places, in Woodbridge, VA and in our younger days we could esily visit back and forth. The Shuskos also have two daughters and daughter Kaelly, who we will visit in a11 days has a 6-1/2 yr old daughter named Tallie. We look forward to that reunion!
After cocktails, Pat, a home ec major at Albright, presented us with a yummy dinner of stuffed porkchops, vegetable cassrole and cottage cheese and corn relish. Dseert was key lime pie!!!! After dinner we played a few rounds of Mexican train dominoes (we were introduced to this game by them while in FLA with them last March). A fun filled day!!
