Saturday 30 September 2006 - Wanaka Time to play! Off to Puzzling World! Started off in the Great Maze Labyrinth. A 2 storey adult sized maze 1.5km of confusing passages! Split into our 2's to race each other..... the winners being the first ones to go to all 4 coloured towers (getting photographic evidence!) then making their way to the exit! Sounds easy!!.... Average time being between 30mins and 1hour. Raced around (dodging Sel & Beth) - getting a few funny looks from people who were not taking it quite as seriously as us! and kids getting in the way! Managed to get to the towers quick enough, after 20 minutes... then it was just a case of finding the exit. Took us a while to say the least - saw Sel and Beth sitting in the cafe enjoying their ice creams as we got more and more frustrated! We were over the maze!! Ellie not letting Rita climb the barriers, we were not going to cheat!! 40 minutes later we joined the girls in the cafe! Second part of the fun was the Illusion rooms! Loads of hollograms and illusions, the Hall of following faces where the eyes follow you all around the room, a slanted room which just made us feel ill! then a room which made Rita a giant! An afternoon stroll - up a 'mountain'! Meant to be 1.5hour loop trip.... got to the top and back down again within the timescale, just had a problem locating the car! stupid loop track took us to the other side of the mountain! Walked the same path 3 times and feared we would have to go back over the mountain again. Eventually found the car after some nice Kiwi's pointed us in the right direction! Saturday night again - time for a night out! In Wanaka accompanied by Sel's kayaking buddies! Ended up in Shooters.
