After changing our pre booked flight, we flew to Buenos Aires which only took and hour and a half, had we have got a bus, it would have been 18 hours at least!!! We took a taxi straight from the airport to the seaport to go to Uruguay, however we ended up having a 5 hour wait for the next ferry, so we dumped our stuff in the port and went exploring Buenos Aires. We fell in love staight away, its such a lovely city, very european feel to it. We went and saw the pink palace where evita made her speech which turns out to be right next to our language school, so we went in and had a look around. The school is beautiful, really old fashioned lifts and pretty rooms, so excited to start there.
We eventually get the ferry to Colonia, as usual I had boat sickness and felt awful, lucikily it was only an hour. Trying to navigate our way out of the sea port of Colonia was fun (much arguing), when a random man suddenly appears to help us out, he starts leading us up all these dark roads, immedialty I think he is the ´helpful local´that Lonely Planets always refer too who is out to mug you. Turns out he wasnt and just a really nice man!
Colonia is nice, we spent the day exploring by bike (no gears or padded seat), its really old and has cobbled streets, although there isn´t much activity so we decide to leave for the cpaital Montevideo.
