On my last night in Queenstown me and the girls all went out for a goodbye meal. We (I) chose a pizza place called Vinny's and it was one of the best pizza restautants i've ever been too. now i know i said that Fergburger was the best ever of its type too (and it is) but this place was outstanding. Oh and the roof of the restaurant opened up too, which was cool. We then went back to the hostel bar for some karaoke. The very first song of the night was me being serenaded by all 7 of the girls. They sat me on a stool in the middle of the dancefloor and sung "I've had the time of my life" to me. It was class and i'm sure every guy in the bar hated me for it!
The next day i said my goodbyes and got on the bus to CH-CH (Christchurch). It was a 10-hour day (with a few stops) but i can safely say that i slept for 6 of those. Queenstown was obviously catching up on me. After arriving at the hostel i had some food and fell asleep at 8pm. Despite the fact that there was-a) a building site just outside my window b) a strange little asian man who shouted in his sleep c) a guy whose snoring would probably rate quite highly on the Richter scale and d) a couple getting quite audibly 'amorous' in another bed I somehow managed to sleep from 8pm til 1130am without waking for more than 2mins.
So feeling very, very awake for the first time in a long time I went to the Arts centre and Botanic gardens with Debbie. When i got back to the hostel later i got a bit of a shock cos Katie and Jen had randomly shown up. It was great to see them again (even though it'd only be two days!) and we celebrated in customary fashion.
The second day here was another lazy day. We went for coffee and then went to the Art Gallery which was really, really good. Me, Katie and Jen went for a Japanese meal and then went to a shady Blues bar over on Madras st (yes, jen-madras!) It was a dodgy wee place but the music was really good.
Christchurch has surprised me. Probably due to low expectations and good weather but it is a nice place that's got quite a bit of charm. I'm glad i had a few days here.
So that'll be pretty much that for NZ then. I'm sitting in the hostel waiting on my bus to take me to the airport to fly to Oz. It feels really strange that i'll be in Melbourne tonight. NZ has been everything i hoped it would be and much, much more. I'm so glad that i chose to get the Kiwi experience bus because it was just so much fun and (largely) hassle free. I've done two things i'd said i'd never do-a skydive and a bungy and i'm very happy that i did. Special mention must go to the Team Extreme girls who made my time here infinitely better, an amazing group of girls who i'll miss loads.
So...sweet as bro, what up cuz and Kia Ora.
