Today was the greatest adventure of an already great adventure. We took the ferry from Tarifa to Tangier, Moracco in North Africa. We had contacted a guide that Rick Steves (the best travel guide and our guide through Spain) had recommended in his book. Aziz Begdouri was his name and he was available to guide us for the day. He arranged for our passage and to meet us at ferry when we landed. Unfortunately, he arranged the wrong time for the ferry so we were unable to board the one we wanted and had to wait 2 hours for the next ferry. It worked out OK and we made it across and met up with him without incident. He took us on a 6 hour tour of Tangier. Luke and I rode camels, we saw where the battle of Trafalager occurred, we walked through the medina and casbah, had an authentic meal, Amy haggled like an Arab trader with an Arab trader, saw where Hercules rested after he split Africa and Europe, Luke finally bought his sharp object (a Berber knife) and then we boarded the ferry back to Spain. It was chaotic and crazy, but it was one of the most memorable experienced I (we!) have ever had. There is still a lot I missed explaining, but I am still processing it all. Tomorrow we are off to Granada and the Alhambra (and Luke's b-day) on Monday.
