I woke up at 03:30 for no good reason and then couldn't get back to sleep but had some rare old day/sleep dreams. I was quite happy anyway. Got up about 09:00 we both showered and dressed and went to Seven Eleven for a hotdog, we then walked into the oncoming traffic for about 2 Km towards a market that the bloke in the bar had recommended the day before, we passed this point and kept walking along the beach now, the market didn't start until 16:00. we walked for probably about another 1.5Km until we decided to sit and enjoy the sun and the beach, we both went in the sea and had a chat about home and what we miss and don't miss. I then started to construct a massive sign in the sand, you know the ones 'Rick and Sar - Khao Lak 2011' in a heart shape. After I did this we took a photograph, I then set about making a bigger one, a big massive one. It said 'Sarah smells', you could have seen it from the moon, Sarah got out of the sea and didn't like it, I then had to change it to 'Sarah is beautiful' she still wasn't happy so I sabotaged her heart she had drawn and wrote 'Sarah loves chip's AKA french fries' (French fries was for the locals as they don't know 'chips'). I then went in the sea, as I was there the massive 'chips' sign was seen by a couple walking passed and by all accounts it looked like Sarah was there on her own with a massive heart shaped 'Chips' sign, I nearly sank with laughter. I checked the time, it was nearly one o'clock and we were a good walk from the shop so we went off. When we hit the shaded route up to the shop it was clear that we were both a funny shade of red on our shoulders and neck, we went in the shop and it was air conditioned so we stood there for a while cooling down, I lingered getting the water out of the fridge and stood practically in it. We went back to the shaded route and settled down on a redundant shop front that had a table outside. Thank god Sarah said she had had enough sun for the day, so we had an ice cream in the shade (well it was more of just a cream when we got back to the shade, it were hot), the rat had one more swim in the sea and then we walked up to the main event - a big market just next to the shop, that is why we walked so far. We were told to go between 16:00-20:00, it was 15:30 so we thought it was close enough, it was fantastic there were food stalls everywhere with smells tantalising our nostrils ranging from sweet to savoury. Then there were watches, swim suits, clothes, perfumes, fish (alive and dead), strange vegetables that I have never seen before on Ely market. I bought a fake Polo Sport t-shirt, it was marked up as in the sale for 250 Baht, I found a medium and offered the old boy 200 Baht, he looked like I'd just offered him a job, over the moon he was, I don't think I have the hang of bartering properly yet, I mean I love doing it but I think he would have accepted a lot less. He bagged it before I'd realised that my offer had been accepted and I gave him the luvva. We then headed home, with the sun still hot in the sky we tried our luck with a taxi, it was only a little way and cost 100 Baht, he dropped us off and we collected our laundry we dropped off the day before, then after a much needed shower we were beer bound. We went back to the same internet café as yesterday, today though we had beef satay with our Chang, as we got settled in the bar a chap shouted from his table 'hello Sweden' I said 'hello', he said 'you are Swedish yar?' 'nope English' he went on and on about how Swedish we looked and kept shaking our hands, his name was Peter. His hands were very sweaty and I think he was a bit oiled as he gave me his card and said that Sarah and I could stay at their home in Sweden - his card was purple with a flower and the words were 'Ying and Yang, Peter and Asa, Love and Understanding' they were clearly sex people. They then left to go and meet other Swedish (possibly also sex people). We had more beer and spoke to home, Sarah had been craving a pizza for about three days so we headed for an Italian restaurant that we eyed up the day before. We ordered two margarita's as if you ordered pizza with any other topping it was double the price! As we waited for them to be brought out Sarah went to the toilet and it was engaged for ages, eventually she saw one of he chefs come out of the toilet groaning and then sitting on a step doubled over clutching her stomach, didn't seem like good news. The pizza came out and it was delicious. We thought when we had finished that it was really late but I checked the time and it was only 20:00 o'clock, we indulged in a drink we had seen in the shop which was called a wine spy or something so we bought some to take back to the room, it essentially was a wine spritzer - it was tasty enough and Sarah had been knocking back the beers so I thought I would camp it up and have a spritzer. The wine cooler down the hatchet we slept at about ten right through to a new day.
