Awoken by Gerrys from the room next door getting back from a party at about 04:00 we were bloody tired, but hey we had nothing to do. We had seen the previous day on an explore that there was a plush resort up yon side of town that welcomed people to use there swimming pool at 100 Baht per day, this was a steal and that's where we headed fairly early on. We stopped at Seven Eleven on the way and purchased a delightful cold pizza and a hot dog. We trotted into the hotel reception parted with 200 Baht and went to the pool, it had towels which belonged to the hotel so we grabbed two of those and found two sun loungers, within 30 minutes of being there there was a mad rush from people waning sun loungers so we were glad that we had got two of them (despite these guests paying a fortune for there room and they couldn't even get a sun lounger). There was a frightfully posh couple next to us, she at one point said 'sweetie I wonder if you wouldn't mind terribly moving my sun chair around' he responded 'of course darling how do you want it?' 'I want my feeties in the sun, just like yours sweetie', she was now in a position to stare down at Sarah and spent some time looking at the front of Sarah's book, which was no Jane Austin, it was called Wives and Lover's and was Purple and glittery with a black silhouette of some sort of footballers wife on the front, she did not approve and did a little frown. We spent the rest of the the afternoon lazing around the pool. I had a couple of shots at diving in. Then the clock went bong and it was beer o'clock, we went back to the room and got changed. The sun was still well hot and we sweated whilst walking to the bar, the usual annoying suit sales men that lined the streets were even more annoying because I had a shirt on 'hey brother, nice shirt, you know soon that shirt will be old and I can make you a nice new one', very annoying. We got to the bar and had a couple of beers and chatted to my mum and Sarah's Mum and Dad. The beers went down a bloody treat, we dropped the laptop off in the room and then went to a little bar made entirely of bamboo and had a bowl of chips and more beers. We had previously picked up a leaflet for Sarah to have a free cocktail so were going to go there after the bamboo bar, but, the heavens opened there was parny everywhere. It really is like you see on the news or in films when it rains in Thailand, the drops are the size of water balloons. I made the call to move on and Sarah said we were to go back to the room as it was quite a walk back to the other bar in the rain. It died off a little and I said 'let's go go go' but then about fifty yards up the road it poured down ever worse than before, we took shelter under the overhang of a shop roof. Sarah looked like she had been in the pool. We got a pot-noodle and ran back to the room to dry off. It was still quite early so we put the pics on the computer and I did my diary until my head hit the pillow with the computer still on, I opened my eyes and Sarah's book was laying on the bed and she was asleep too so we turned of the light.

Sarah That place where we had the chips was weird - to get to the toilet (a wooden hut) we had to go through the 'kitchen' to a hut!!
