We decided to make Kuala Lumpur our treat night (A 'take two' at our anniversary -to beat the pirate infested waters of Lahad Datu) so we set our sights on the revolving restaurant that overlooks the KL towers and the whole of the city from a ridiculous height of 250 metres! So with this in mind we checked into the cheapest place we could find in the city to try and save some pennies for cocktails later... After dumping our bags in our cell like room with no windows, a broken mirror and metal bed, and not even enough room to swing a cat we headed out to explore the city. After attempting to find little India (Shell was in charge of the map for about 20 minutes and we ended up about a mile in the wrong end of town!) we wandered around the markets of china town and went to the central market where we managed to purchase even more very essential souvenirs...another box being posted home very soon!
Richard's foot had swollen to a ridiculous size after a fight with some coral in Borneo (he lost) so after him moaning for a good few hours we headed back to our deluxe prison cell for a quick change before we going back out to see the towers by night.
We legged our way up to the Petronas towers in high spirits at our looming night...they were soon dashed when the lady at the desk at the base of the revolving restaurant told us you needed to book days in advance!!! So after Rich trying his luck flirting with her, Shell got pushed into giving it a go...It turned out her luck was in and the lady was rather female inclined!!! So after some horrendous flirting we were booked in for 30 minutes time! The restaurant did not disappoint, we were sat right by the window and the city looked absolutely amazing all lit up! Richard was thrilled to find out it was actually a buffet style meal (All you can eat!), It was the most delicious food you could imagine with oysters, prawns, fish curries, steamed and smoked salmon and as much amazing cheese as you could fit in...not to mention the full dessert buffet to finish off! Needless to say we got our money's worth, (Well Richard made sure he got both our money's worth!) and having some amazingly decorated cocktails to accompany the meal!
It was a flying visit to KL so after a delightful night's sleep in our 5star deluxe suite we headed back to the airport to hot foot it to Bali!!!
