Rich Round The World
Hi all!
I have been in Vietnam for the past week. From Phnom Penh to Saigon i took the bus which only cost 4 US dollars. Stayed in Saigon for about three days. Saigon is great. The city itself has not much to offer but around i visited the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta. The streets are just full of motorbikes and crossing the roads is a tricky business. You literally just walk out onto the road and all the vehicles just move out of your way!But if u hesitate u will be run over. So stayed there for a few days and then caught the bus up to Dalat in the central highlands. Dalat is a popular honeymoon destination for many vietnamese due to the amazing views of the mountains. It was a great change of climate as its so cool up there! But it rained the whole time i was there and it was too cloudy. Me and a few others went on a motorbike tour, called the Easy Riders, around the city.My driver(Lee) and me crused the hills and visited some Pagodas, a waterfall and a Chicken Village (which had a giant wooden Chicken on the side of the street-wierd!)
There was not much else to see there so yesterday caught the bus to Nha Trang on the coast for a bit of sun and relaxing on the beach. The journey was terrible as the bus was so full, me and the others has to sit at the back of the bus on top of everyones luggage. But that 6 hour trip still doesnt beat the trip between Poipet and Siem Reap in Cambodia.
Its so easy to get around Vietnam. I've bought a open bus ticket from Saigon to Hanoi for about 15 US dollars. You dont get the experience of the local trains or meet the locals but its so much cheaper and faster, and im sure i will have enough experiences on the chinese trains in a few weeks to last me a lifetime as they are notoriously bad!
Right im off now to go and chill on the beach(its a hard life!)
See you!
