From Trujillo headed out to the Huaca de la Luna and Sol mon and sun temple museum and Sun and Mom Temple. Similar to the Sipain one the other day. Some of the pottery was incredible. The stories of all the sacrifice, especially of the spouse of the rulers who died was kind of gross. The temple is believed to be 700 hundred years old but some of the artwork etc has survived and it is incredible. I found it interesting also that the Moche people used one level of the temple for about 100 years then they filled it in and added a whole new layer. Another interesting fact was each family also paid their taxes using tablets. They had symbols on them which related to only their family. They have found around 150 different patterns on the slabs/tablets.
Then we went to the Chan Chan archeological site. Felt really feeling poorly now, but Patricia our leader, told me I had to visit it as its the most famous site in the area. It was a rabbit warren, so massive. It was so hot, and we couldn't really take it all in. It was interesting to see all the workers who are helping restore it though. By the end we all needed food and fluid. Headed to Huan Chaco beach. Very touristy but bloody amazing. Had some wonderful food and relaxed on the beach before we headed back to Trujillo to start the 10 hour overnight bus to Lima at 9pm.
