Another 250 miles done today mostly on the original route 66 apart from the last 30 miles or so as it has been broken up between Williams and flagstaff.
Visited Oatman a gold rush town from the 1930's great place but sadly more for the tourists passing through but authentic still, then on the road and passing some modern working gold mines and driving some switchback roads to Holman - a one road town .
We then followed the railroad to Sligman on route 66 waving at the massive trains as they passed getting them to whistle - and they did !
At Sligman stopped for lunch a lovely little town from the sixties still going strong too - homemade buffalo burger and fries were excellent good photos too.
Back on the road again through Williams to arrive in flagstaff.
Having an hour break at our hotel now then into the famous WINSLOW Arizona and the corner the Eagles sang about - its only 40 miles from here so we'll get there before Mr Kilner and Bob, sorry John but I had to get that one in !
