Boston. Boston. Boston.
Ventured into downtown Boston today. Shopping, drinks & food.
I think this is where Mondays events became more obvious. Spot of shopping at the near-by Prudential Centre, then walked out from there towards Boston Common, past the throng of news crews, to the barriers at the Boylston St. junction. There was a memorial set up with messages, flowers etc. Lots of people and more news crews. Looking down that empty street was really weird. Just rubbish blowing in the wind and still forensic peeps doing their work. Was all a bit 24. Especially with the amount of FBI vehicles about.
Boston Common is beautiful. People sitting in the sun and boating on the lake. Jo had her joyful ride on the carrousel. Ha. Then, Cheers Bar.
Sat at the mini-show-version of the bar, fitted with brass name-plates of various characters. Got talking to a local lawyer guy (band from home whilst wife had friends around - ha). Really nice chat. Turns out his son ran a bar around the corner, so after a couple of hours, headed there.
Lovely walk across town towards the North End as the sun began to go down. Big Italian quarter and lots of restaurants. Had food, drink, and got taxi home. Long day.
Started to pack. Boo.
