A couple of nice dishes for you to try in Thailand if you can pronounce it right! -
Lak Nar Guy (thick noodles, fresh veg, chicken, oyster sauce), swop the 'guy' for 'gung' if you want king prawns!
Pad Pak Cow (stir fired veg and steamed rice)
They sound like simple dishes, but they are really tasty and fresh. I have written it as it sounds not how its spelt.
Good luck!
Oh and there's a really cool market in Bangkok called Chatchuchak. You have to get the sky train out to it and it's nearly at the end of one of the lines. Definitely worth a visit for a vast array of many cheap things!!

Once again your journal and photos are really and truly amazing. You both have a talent. You must work on it when you eventually return and prepare something to publish. It has really cheered me up this evening. Stay safe Sarah and no more hospital visits please!! It's ok reading about it after the event but poor you. Thank you Richard for looking after her, what is she like??
All my love, Mum XXXXXXXXXXXX

Hello both, once more some lovely and exciting pics to cheer me up at work. We are beginning to get the horses going - slightly more light in the evening, roll on Spring. Give my love to Penang - I spent a few days there years ago when Roger and I visited Andrew and Salli when he was the vicar of Malacca - we had some lovely days on deserted palm fringed beaches. I also recall locking Andrew's car keys in his boot and finding a locksmith to come and open it! Was I popular - not. We drove across that jungle road - didn't have to cope with crazy driving though - unless Andrew was at the wheel. Much love xxxxx

Hellooooo everyone,
Becky-Ha Ha Ha, i am so gutted that your special pressie got taken away. I thought we had got away with it coz we wrapped it up so well....never mind. I guess you got the idea....a kangaroo leg with bottle opener at one end and its paw/foot as a back scratcher. I couldnt touch it it was so disgusting so i thought you would love it/love me for sending it. I really really wanted to see your face when you opened it but never mind.
We are in Penang at the moment, an island off the East coast of Malaysia. Just spent 2 lovely days in the Cameron Highlands in the middle of Malaysia-we went to a tea plantation-you can guess how excited i was about that :-) Got the bus here this morning-what a scary journey, i actually feared for my life as the crazy driver got mad over the smallest things and ranted and jesticulated the whole journey. He hardly once had his hands on the wheel...and he beat up some of the passengers for sitting in the wrong seat or leaving luggage in the aisle..... I really wanted to get off but we were in the middle of a jungle so i decided i was actually more scared of the tigers than the driver-just!
Anyway, we made it. Been to an amazing temple tonight-the biggest in malaysia.
Becky-will attempt to find you another random pressie that actually gets to you!!
Lots of love Sarah xx

Thank you very much for the parcel you sent me!!I was very excited to get it!!Only problem is......it got seized at Darwin!!So I received a jiffy bag with lots of packaging and a card inside!!At first i thought someone had stolen it then i saw the notice of seizure paper!heehee! But i do have to ask....what the frig were you thinking sending me a kangaroo paw back scratcher???!!!!I know theyre like pests over there but it is possibly the randomest thing in the world!!!! All the same it was lovely to get a card from you, i did really appreciate it!! Now send me another present that wont get taken away!!!!
Got your parcel today with the magazine and also the 2 CDs from Darwin. Keep taking all the photos 'cos they're great. Back to school this week and it's crazy busy. Today i've done a motivational course with a group of 20 year 11's ----Not sure if I was supposed to be motivated as well as them!!!! Not actually sure if they were motivated at all but they seemed to enjoy the games even if the relevance passed them by. Brighten up my day with another journal entry when you can. Taking my aching body to bed.. just been to pilates.

Glad you both got to Singapore safely - hope you are feeling better Sarah. It must be a great experience to be there at Chinese New Year. I am sure you will enjoy plenty of nice food while you are there. It must be very different from Australia. Look out for those deep fried speiders Richey!
Can't wait for some photos - you really brighten up the office with all those beautiful places.
Take care both of you.

Hellooo everyone, we are in SINGAPORE!! SooOOooo exciting! We had a pretty dreadful day yesterday trying to book a train/bus/car/plane/anything please.... out of the city and into Malaysia, we hadn't realised it was Chinese New Year this weekend and everything is chokka block. But, we eventually managed....16 internet sessons and 12 frustrated phonecalls later to get a seat on a train on Sunday and it hasn't cost us a fortune-a miracle!! Anyway, despite being kind of stuck in Singapore it has actually turned out pretty well as we have had an amazing eveing tonight at a show and firework warm up for new year propper tomorrow....so looking forward to tomorrow night in China Town :-) 78% of Singapore's population is Chinese so the festivities are pretty huge-its a great atmosphere!! Will update soon, especially now we have found a decent internet connection.....
take care,
Happy Chinese New Year

You lucky lucky people, being back in blighty truely sucks - was seriously thinking of quitting my job on the plane coming home!
A hope you experienced the delights of "The Woolshed" in Cairns??? Awesome photos too of the Whitsundays, sounds like you did a pretty similar tour to me.
Yeah RJW, you're dropped from the team. Walsh (what a fat mess) would get into any team before you - you stink
