Glad to know you're experiencing a bit of real life but oh my god bugs and mice, not nice.  Believe it was the little critters and not the big ones,it'll make the memory a little better.

Only news here is that we had respite from the wind and rain for a few days but woke up this morning to more!!  Come on spring.  I don't think Richard will be writing too many drought plans!

Dad is outside talking to Colin about tractors, what's new! and since Buddy went the yard has become a tractor park.  The little grey fergie is actually in front of Buddy's stable so it didn't get its tyres wet in the floods.

Going to an archaeological talk on the Abbey which sounds really interesting and this Friday is the quiz night.  Our aim this year is to drink a bit less and get a few more right.  I'm also going to a horsey lecture demo thing at Ross's with Pip and Becky sometime soon.

Who is Becky by the way?  Actually she did phone on Friday and she and Pitt have been in Edinburgh this weekend.  She'll no doubt be telling you.

CBB by the way is Celebrity Big Brother which finishes today, thankgoodness then I can stop watching it!!!!!  Will not get drawn in again as it becomes compulsive.  What an admission!!

Hey everyone.
just a quick moan about the absolutely disgusting hostel we have just escaped from... as well as the stuff mentined by Richard in his message below, overnight I was eaten alive by BED BUGS - Absolutley gross.  I have 95 bites on my left leg, plus they are all over my other leg and my back and up into my hair - yuck yuck yuck.  My legs swelled up so you couldnt even see my ankle bone and the bites were so so itchy i could hardly bare it.  Plus, there were rats/mice :-(  Richard  had droppings on his sleeping bag which means they were actually ON HIM in the night....and a packet of freeze dried food which we had left over from our hike in NZ had been nibbled into despite being in Richard's rucksack.  We just couldnt get out of the place fast enough in the morning, i was nearly sick with disgust....Its just proof that sometimes the cheapest hostels are REALLY REALLY not worth staying in.
Anyway, when we got to our next lovely hostel here on Magnetic Island we spent 5 hours washing EVERYTHING so now at least we can relax and feel clean again. 
Just thought id share a yucky travelling tale with you to prove that we do have some hard days too!!

ps, the hostel was called MAGNUMS at Airlie Beach just in case anyone is following us up the coast!

Just been looking at your last photos it looks fantastic you'll definately have loads of memories when you get home. We have just come back from the trip in France earlier this week there was lots of snow. Christine is happy about that because she goes skiing next week, and in some places snow has not been plentiful. Anne & Christine have gone to see Clare this weekend. Sheep scanning has taken priority for David over the last two days.Tonight is Brenda's big birthday party! The weather here has taken a turn for the better, muich more seasonal as it should be at this time of year.

hows life? mines good really good! finished my exams and just bin out every night spending way too much money!! nowt really much to tell u, im gettin fat again... im in a sunday league football team (im the keeper) ... iv aquired the nickname "f***-up" dont really no why, i think for just being my self which really isnt a good sign! and iv managed to bag myself a girl friend called janine!

We are staying in the skankiest hostel in the Southern Hemisphere! There is one fridge and one table in the kitchen for 400 people! We are staying in a dorm with ten people but I'm sweating so much at 11pm that I'm not sure its worth bothering trying to sleep. Anyways, we're off for a cruise round the Whitsundays tomorrow, so all is well. See ya soon, RJW

hope all is well! havent been in touch since 3rd Jan so thought i'd stop by to leave you a message and check out what your doin with yourselves!

all is well in Dunsop although i got some bad news on friday at work off my area manager.. he wont let me have time off work to travel india/nepal with Rory which absolutly sucks! still plannin on Oz 2008 but wanted to do India this year since Rorys over there!
