Have finally made it to Australia! Arrived into Perth on our flight from Singapore. Take a taxi down to Jollimont (where Ann, Andy, Issy and Tom live) and chill out in the lovely park just a few yards away. later in the evening go out to Scarborough for a meal whilst hearing stories of recent shark attacks - bit worrying!
Following day we take a train out to Freemantle down by the sea - quite a bustling place - visit the shipwreck and maritime museum and just time to pop to the prison luckily not to be incasterated!
Our final excursion of the day is to Tom's school to watch the bi-annual play Jackie and the beat stalk - very entertaining.
Early start this morning up at 530 to catch a lift with Andy to the airport after a yummy breakfast pick up the hire car and Join the Perth rush hour.
Eventually after a few wrong turns (not many road signs out here) arrived at Margaret River, absolutely gorgeous spot. Staying at a place called Heritage Lodge - right in the middle of the forests.
Last week there were fires a few km down the road due to the scorching temperatures and fire control mechanisms but fortunately does not seem to have spread. Decide to head out through the woodies and make our way up to town to get a few provisions.
