We drove up the West coast from Queenstown and we stopped in Arrowtown, Wanaka (where we went to a puzzle world and did a 3D maze..such good fun) We then headed up to Fox Glacier which was cool but not as spectacular as we first thought it might be. We then visited Lake Mathieson which is the most photographed lake in New Zealand due to its mirror lake and stunning views of Mount Cook. We took a walk around before heading to Franz Josef Glacier. The biggest and more impressive glacier. It was quite spectacular to see and the rate at w hich it is moving is unbeleivable. We then headed up the coast in our wee van and saw some blowholes in the sea, pancake rocks and we also stopped in at an eco centre whree they were rehabilitating kiwis so we happy to stop by and check the wierd but cute birds out. They are very unique.
We also stoped at a seal colony where we saw lots of mums and babies and even some Wekes which are chicken like birds running over the rocks. Very Bizarre!!!
