India and Nepal 2022
I went online the day before my flight from Kathmandu to change my seat number. The reason is that from the right hand side of the aircraft, you get the most stupendous views of the mighty Himalaya. Up at 38,000 feet, you can see the white mountains and the brown valleys for mile after mile. I sit next to a middle aged Tibetan Buddhist monk in his crimson and saffron robes who stares in silence and a young man dressed in an orange gilet and bright yellow Addidas T-shirt, listening to music on his mobile phone. It seems to capture the diversity of my experiences in South Asia. From the spiritual and ancient to the modern and secular. I have seen the fish markets of the Indian Ocean and tea plantations in Sri Lanka, the Hindu temples and waterways of South India and the wonderful mountains and people of Nepal. What a fabulous adventure I have had over the past nine weeks or so. I can't wait for the next one..........
