India and Nepal 2022
Sorry not to have blogged for a few days. I have been feeling pretty rough with flu symptoms, although there are two nurses in the tour group if things get worse! I just have to be patient and hope the virus passes quickly which I am sure it will. Early this morning we climbed up Sigiriya (Lion Rock) which was a sky fortress built in the fifth century. It was built over a period of seven years to protect the reign of King Kassapa, who had assassinated his father and deposed his brother - sounds like a real nice guy! The view from the top is great offering a view all round including the Kandy mountains. An enjoyable stop at a spice centre extolling the virtues of lime oil, cinnamon, cocoa chocolate together with a short shoulder and neck massage broke the journey on to Kandy. We are here for two nights and staying right on top of the hill above the city. Hope all is well in Ashland, Coverack, Lizard, Mijas Costa, Durham, Colchester and anywhere else where you might be following my blog.
