Ric Flack's Travels
The alarm went off before 5 this morning so that I could go to the laundry room before the crowds got there. I wasn't the first but there were two empty machines. The machines weren't very good and so it was finished around 7:30. While I was at the laundry room I read and Nikki did get up and join me after a while. We arrived in Acapulco sometime around 6:00 am. It had rained all night long and was still raining. After finishing the laundry, we went back to the room. Nikki got in bed and I went out on the verandah to read some more and people watch all the folk getting off the ship. We got the girls up around 8:30 and got ready to go into Acapulco. We were planning on visiting the Fort of San Diego and then a little shopping if the rain was light enough. We went to Parrot Cay for breakfast. By the time we were done eating, the rain had stopped so we headed off the ship. Just off the ship were people who wanted to take us shopping or on tours or other things. Turns out we had a tag along who offered to take us to the Fort and to the flea market. The Fort was really cool and was originally built in the 1500s and, after an earthquake, rebuilt in 1776. Then we walked to the flea market which was really just junk so we left and took a cab back to the ship. We were onboard by 12:15 which was good since we left Acapulco at 1:00. The restaurants were packed and we ended up sitting with some people who I had met in the laundry room a couple of days ago. The girls craft was canceled so they grabbed lunch and ate it in the room. Regan, Nikki and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End in the Buena Vista Theater for the afternoon and Kelsie hung around with Stephanie. After the show we got ready for dinner, went and had our photos taken with Mickey and Donald in the Mexican garb. It was Donald's Birthday today too! Dinner was in Parrot Cay and was a Mexican Themed dinner. Minnie even came in and danced around the restaurant. After dinner Nikki and I walked 1.33 miles around the Promenade Deck and then met Regan and Kelsie for the show in the Walt Disney Theater. The show was called "The Art of the Story" and was originally created for the Southern Caribbean 10 and 11 night cruises. We saw scenes from Hunchback, Mulan, Tarzan and the Lion King. It was nice to see a show that is new to us. It was then back to the room for Nik, Regan and me. Kelsie went to go to a "Boys and Girls Chill" in Ocean Quest at 10:15. Tomorrow is an at sea day. Hopefully, we can all sleep in!
