Day 17 - Beijing: New Hotel and Getting Lost

Today we moved hotels - thank goodness. Although the last hotel was nice enough the hot water wasn't very hot, and they were doing renovations on the floor above us so it was quite noisy. It took a half hour drive to the new hotel. It is amazing the bed is king size, it has a couch and 32" plasma TV, desk with its own computer, the bathroom has a bath and a shower rather than a shower bath as all the hotels have previously been. Later in the afternoon we went for a walk to try and find the nearest subway station for other outings later in the week, we must have taken some wrong turns as we ended up in a construction area and all of the workers we stopping and staring at us as most of them probably have never seen foreigners before. We finally found the subway station and estimate that it is about a 20min walk from the hotel without getting lost. Another hour's walk we found some shops. Because we were tired and hungry after our 2hr walk Dad said we could have Pizza Hut again. Mmmmm. We then discovered had we of turned right instead of left when we left the hotel we would have found food in about 10mins. Oh well, we got to explore the neighborhood, the only thing about this hotel is that it is out from central Beijing where most of the things we want to see are.
