Day 54 - Phnom Penh Lighthouse Orphanage
Today we met a tuk-tuk man who was wearing an Australia hat. We got talking to him and he took us to visit an orphanage called the Lightning Orphanage. They have 104 kids there and Mum and Dad donated a 50kg bag of rice for them to eat. I learned that children in Cambodia go to school in two sessions from 7am to 11am or 1pm to 5pm. There are so many kids and not enough schools so they are split into two groups this way. At the orphanage we played volleyball with some kids who were very good. It was lots of fun. While we were resting some of the kids came over and played with us. Mum was taken on a tour of the orphanage by a 4 year old boy while another boy was very excited to play with Dad's camera. After some lunch in the city we visited a photography exhibition and the National Museum where Mum saw two big rats! We walked back to the hotel and had a soak in the spa. Mum and Dad let us order a pizza for dinner for our last night in Cambodia. Tomorrow we will be leaving for Vietnam.
