Well 2014 has roared in and we are yet to see the thermometer drop below 28C (sorry UK). Our remaining days in Sydney were spent exploring more of the city and it's beaches as well as heading out to the gorgeous Blue Mountains.
We also discovered the Sydney Fish Market and Mike & Pam's generosity backfired slightly when they sent us shopping alone for dinner with their wallet! 4 types of fish/seafood with dinner seemed a good idea at the time.
Thoroughly fed and watered we said our farewells to Team Edmunds and headed up the coast to Newcastle. A much more inspiring place than the name suggests.
We stayed with our friends Claire & Traill and our new favourite pet of the trip - Indie (their 6 month old Golden Lab pup). We had some good old Aussie hospitality from their friends up the coast (who have now started to feel sorry for us and the state of our cricket team rather than constant teasing) and finally had a chance to take in some Aussie surf all of 500m from their front door!
Their proximity to the Hunter Valley also meant an obligatory final wine tour for Team Hiles and we duly indulged. We were sad to leave but left a freshly decorated wall (trying to earn our keep) for them to remember us by.
From here we start our final section of Australia by heading further up the coast stopping at various beaches on the way.
