Cheers!! Now I feel like I'm really in London because I had my first tube experience today! Our stop isn't very crowded, but the closer you get to the center of the city, the more pushy you have to be to get on and off the tube. This morning we had an orientation at the school building about "living in London." Our classes are held in a building on Bloomsbury Square, which is near Oxford Circus. It is a very charming area with lots of cafes and shops. I also had an internship meeting this afternoon. My internship location is only about a 20 minute commute from the flats, which is very short by London standards. I begin my internship at Jones & Partners, an accounting firm, at 9:30 Monday morning with a meeting with my supervisor. I will work on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 5:30, which is the standard work day here in the UK.
The flat I'm living in is actually pretty big, which was a surprise for us. Downstairs is the kitchen, dining, and living area. There are three bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. I'm living in a triple room with Laura and Whitney, which worked out well. I think we might have the largest flat, and it's also on the ground floor which was nice for our luggage!
Tomorrow we have the morning free to explore and then we will be going on a coach tour to hopefully see some of the bigger sites around London!!
